Artel launches DLT710 video test unit

Artel’s DLT710, a low cost multi-format 3G-SDI capable signal generator and test module for the company’s DL4000 platform chassis, is now available worldwide.

Artel’s DLT710, a low cost multi-format 3G-SDI capable signal generator and test module for the company’s DL4000 platform chassis, is now available worldwide.

The DLT710 is an innovative DL4000 based module designed for simple, automatic link verification of all serial digital video formats.

The module functions as both a signal generator and functional test monitor for 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, SD-SDI, DVB-ASI and ATSC formats making it ideal for verification of single or multiformat video links. What makes the DLT710 unique according to Artel is its ability to generate and verify both compressed and uncompressed video formats along with the feature of automatically sequencing through all pre-selected formats. This means that in less than five minutes users can verify as operational a circuit supporting 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, SD SDI, DVB-ASI and ATSC.

Used in conjunction with DL-Manager, the module will log CRC and EDH errors, loss of video plus other errors and activities. The DLT710 is compatible with any DL4000 platform chassis and can be packaged in a ruggedized travel case along with the DL4100 single slot chassis.

“Customers told us testing video circuits is a time consuming process requiring numerous pieces of expensive test equipment designed for other applications. With that in mind Artel engineers went to the drawing board and came up with a space efficient, low cost product that dramatically simplifies and automates the process,” said Richard Dellacanonica, President of Artel Video Systems. “The DLT710 is another example of our continued commitment to supporting the unique requirements of telcos, CLECs, cable TV operators, and video service providers.”
