Argosy Components has announced the company’s co-founder Mike Purnell passed away on 6th February 2024.
“Together with his business partner and friend, Ken, Mike was a visionary founder of Argosy and led the company to global success,” said the company.
“His work ethic, business acumen, mentorship, and his ability to connect with people across all cultures and walks of life, is a testament to this exceptional man.”
Paying tribute to Purnell, current co-CEO Chris Smeeton said: “Anyone fortunate enough to spend time with Mike was undoubtedly touched by his humour, camaraderie and unwavering loyalty. I am proud to have considered Mike an inspiration, a father figure and a true friend.”
Founded in 1984, Argosy is a manufacturer and distributor of broadcast infrastructure products.
