DPA Microphones adds remote audio recording to product suite

The 4097 CORE Micro Shotgun Microphone features a lightweight telescopic boom pole, and a Rycote windjammer, for use in outdoor productions

DPA Microphones has updated its product suite to include a new shotgun mic that, when used in conjunction with the company’s digital audio interface, can capture sound remotely anywhere in the world.

The 4097 CORE Micro Shotgun Microphone features a lightweight telescopic boom pole, and a Rycote windjammer, to provide ideal conditions for outdoor productions.

According to DPA, the mic’s sonic qualities enable users to capture sound from anywhere on set. When used in conjunction with DPA’s MMA-A Digital Audio Interface, the mic becomes a complete remote recording package, said the company. The interface is a two-channel microphone preamp and A/D converter offering mono, dual and stereo capabilities, and is compatible with iOS devices, Mac or PC computer, providing audio to, and from, anywhere in the world.

DPA has also debuted new 4466 CORE Omnidirectional and 4488 CORE Directional Headset Microphones featuring 5mm round microphone capsules. According to DPA, these latest offerings provide the security, durability and flexibility necessary for use in broadcast.

“The pandemic has shown us the true importance of being quickly and easily adaptable to a rapidly changing media landscape,” said Anne Berggrein, vice president, marketing, DPA Microphones A/S. “These new offerings are a direct result of the innovation and forward-thinking response to the industry, and we are excited to call attention to the benefits they provide to the broadcast market.”
