Avid has announced details of a collaboration with CuttingRoom.
Aiming to streamline workflows for news teams, CuttingRoom’s cloud-native technology is driving Avid’s web-based editor, enabling video content to be captured, created, customised and published from any location. The solution provides an AI-enhanced workflow for video editing, audio design, graphics and formatting for social media within a web browser. Multiple users are able to edit simultaneously, reducing turnaround times and further accelerating production schedules, said the company,

Welford Dillard, Avid’s CEO commented, “In a media environment driven by ever-faster turnaround times and the need to maximise resources, content teams require web-based and mobile-first tools to enable frictionless workflows that deliver more content without sacrificing quality. Avid’s next-generation web-based editor, powered by CuttingRoom, makes it faster and easier than ever for news teams to produce better, more creative stories from wherever they need to work.”
Initially integrated into Avid’s Wolftech News product, the solution will also be enabled in the Wolftech Go mobile app.
Glenn S Pedersen, CuttingRoom co-founder said, “This solution brings together the best of both worlds – Avid’s integrated, end-to-end media workflows and CuttingRoom’s flexible, cloud-native platform. Together, we’re redefining how news stories are captured, edited, and shared on the go.”
