Sky Deutschland sale ‘could happen before the end of the year’

Reports suggest negotiations are "in the home stretch" and could be confirmed before the end of 2022

Comcast’s rumoured plans to sell off its Sky operations in Germany could take place before the end of the year according to reports.

According to German website DWDL.de, talks on a proposed sale are “in the home stretch” and could be confirmed before the end of 2022.

The report suggests Ralph Dommermuth, majority stakeholder in United Internet, is interested in acquiring a stake in the broadcaster. It suggests the company is working with an unnamed partner on the deal. United Internet has denied the report.

Reports of Comcast’s plans for Sky Deutschland surfaced in October, with the US media giant said to be working with an advisor on a possible €1 billion sale of the broadcaster.

Last month German media company ProSiebenSat.1 denied reports it was interested in acquiring the pay-TV broadcaster.
