The final series of Game of Thrones was the most-torrented TV series of 2019 on BitTorrent, according to figures from TorrentFreak.
It is the seventh time the show has topped the chart during its eight-season run. In 2018, The Walking Dead topped the poll.
Chernobyl, a co-production between Sky and HBO was second on the chart, followed by Disney Plus’ The Mandalorian.
The ranking, for single episodes, is based on several sources, including statistics reported by public BitTorrent trackers. Full season downloads are not included.
TorrentFreak noted that BitTorrent traffic only makes up a small portion of the piracy landscape, as a lot of people use streaming sites and services nowadays, which generally do not report viewing statistics.
