BBC Sport has agreed a deal with dock10 to secure edit facility services for its MediaCityUK headquarters.
The media service provider has installed 12 Avid Media Composer workstations at BBC Sport headquarters, offering direct access to its Avid ISIS shared storage and network connectivity infrastructure.
The implementation will enable off-site editing capabilities as well as the development of ‘flexible and collaborative’ workflows.
Mark Senior, dock10 CEO, said, “We’re delighted that our services have been selected by BBC Sport to deliver seamless, file-based workflows and remote edit capabilities between BBC Sport’s HQ and dock10’s Studios and Post facility.
“This deal builds on our existing relationship where for the past five years we have been working together on iconic shows such as Match of the Day, Football Focus, Sports Personality of the Year and the FA Cup.”
BBC Sport will also be able to flex its storage and editing capacity requirements depending on the ups and downs of the sporting calendar, acquiring pop up or overspill edits either at MediaCityUK or on location at events.
