Discovery has announced the launch of its streaming app Dplay in the UK and Ireland.
The ad-supported service will feature content from the broadcaster’s free UK channels, including Quest, Food Network and Really, counting Salvage Hunters, Katie Price: My Crazy Life and Ghost Adventures among its offering at launch.
Dplay will be available to download for Apple and Android devices this week and rolled out on partner platforms and additional devices in the first half of 2020.
“The launch of Dplay is the next step in our strategy to deliver to British audiences the best real-life entertainment, whenever and wherever they want it,” said James Gibbons, Discovery EVP and general manager UK, Ireland and ANZ. “The free streaming service will also increase opportunities for advertisers to engage with audiences across multiple platforms.”
