BBC Northern Ireland signs Memorandum of Understanding with Digital Catapult

Three year commitment will see BBC NI and Digital Catapult work together to advance projects within the immersive sector

BBC Northern Ireland has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Digital Catapult, which will aim to utilise emerging technologies as well as create opportunities to reach new audiences.

Digital Catapult Northern Ireland is a digital technology innovation centre co-funded by the Department for the Economy and Digital Catapult UK, which drives early adoption of digital technologies throughout Northern Ireland.

The three-year commitment will see BBC Northern Ireland and Digital Catapult work together to share facilities, workspaces, equipment and expertise, advance projects within the immersive sector, develop talent and skills within both organisations and work together on exhibitions, workshops and events.

Peter Johnston, director BBC Northern Ireland, said: “We are delighted to be able to announce this new relationship with Digital Catapult Northern Ireland. This will enable our teams to collaborate and share ideas and expertise, creating leading-edge innovation and all for the ultimate benefit of audiences.”
