Outside Broadcast NV and Italian production company Frame have partnered to cover all the Autumn international test matches of the Italian rugby team in 3D.
Outside Broadcast NV will deploy its Unit 14 in 3D, specced with the latest 3D state-of-the-art kit: 1x side-by-side camera and 5x 3D cameras on mirror-rigs (Swissrigs), plus, of course, its experienced 3D team consisting of stereographer, cameramen, convergence operators, vision engineers and so on.
Outside Broadcast has a comparatively long record in the field. In 2009, the first 3D transmissions were done by Outside Broadcast NV at the Golden League Athletics in Brussels. After several successful 3D football games, the company was also chosen to produce the final of the Champions League in Madrid.
The 3D games will be broadcast live in Italy on La7, with some additional cinema screenings of certain games.
