Now online at the Photos2012 page of our IT Broadcast Workflow conference web site, a series of stage, audience, breakouts and networking images from the June 13 event at BAFTA. The IT Broadcast Workflow 2012 conference was a huge success and showed that there is much debate still to be had in the meeting of IT and broadcast technologies and skill-sets. Programme-supporting Gold Sponsors for ITBW were AmberFin, Aspera, EVS, Grass Valley, Provys, Sharepoint City, Sony, Symbox and Telestream. Silver Sponsors are Blue Lucy Media, Digital Rapids, GlobeCast, IABM Training Academy, MediaGeniX, Pebble Beach Systems, Quantum, SGL and Signiant. Our chairman Jeremy Bancroft (pictured) said, “Why can’t IT and broadcast companies see eye to eye? Why is it that broadcasters and large IT companies have so much difficulty in understanding each other? After all, much of the infrastructure that broadcasters rely on is IT-based, and there is barely a desktop without a computer, barely a TV executive without an iPhone or Blackberry, and barely a channel that is not available on the web. So why the gulf between the two industries?” Many of those questions were answered last week: you can see the full analysis of the day’s proceedings in the July issue of TVBEurope.
