The full programme for the HD Masters conference (June 25 & 26) has been announced, the website is up and running, and registration for the event is now open, writes Fergal Ringrose. You can register for Europe’s leading HD technology conference, staged by TVBEurope in partnership with SMPTE & BKSTS, at www.HDMasters2007.com.

Keynote speakers for the event are: BSkyB Technology Director Chris Johns; European HD Forum joint Chair David Wood; HD Thames MD Paul Kafno; ITV Consumer Director of Technology Simon Fell; BBC Head of Resources Andy King; Snell & Wilcox Chairman Roderick Snell; and senior industry journalist Chris Forrester.

We are now proud to name (just) some of the case study and panel speakers who will join the sessions at HD Masters, under the event chairmanship of industry consultant John Ive. These include Greg Bensburg, Ofcom (‘Use and availability of spectrum’); Steve Eveleigh, Martyr TV (‘Audio Production for HD – Making Sense of Surround Sound’); Simon Gauntlett, Digital Television Group (‘From camera to screen – concatenated compression’); Hans Hoffman, EBU (‘Compression and image formats’); Timo Koch, Outside Broadcast Belgium (mobile production case study); Milan Krsjlanin, Arri Media Rental (HD drama/documentary production case study); Kevin Moorehouse, Gravity Media/Gearhouse (major OB HD sports production case study); Greg Moyer, CEO, Voom TV USA (HD outside Western Europe case study); and Graham Plumb, BBC (‘Broadcasting HD & Experience from the UK HD trials’).

This, you will agree, is a serious list of speakers for our two-day event — a list that is being added to and finalised right now (and needless to say, as with all events, it is subject to change). Maybe you missed out on our inaugural HD Masters conference last year? Don’t miss this year’s event: register now.
