Grass Valley and Harris appoint new top executives

Grass Valley has appointed Adolfo Rodriquez to run its server business. He joins from Harmonic, where he had been responsible for technical marketing of its Omneon server line for many years.

Grass Valley has appointed Adolfo Rodriquez to run its server business. He joins from Harmonic, where he had been responsible for technical marketing of its Omneon server line for many years.

“There is real momentum in Grass Valley’s business, which is a great opportunity for me to take on and give the company continued success through effective and innovative delivery within its server business,” said Rodriguez. “I’m eager to help Grass Valley further define its strategy and deliver top-notch quality to its customers around the world.”

Harris Broadcast, meanwhile, has brought in Pablo Gargiulo (pictured) as president of global sales. Like recently appointed company president Charlie Vogt he joins from the telecoms business, most recently as COO of Xtera Communications, the fibre transport company.

“Harris Broadcast is embarking on a very unique chapter both for the company and the industry it serves,” he said. “Empowered by a new, independent ownership structure and the visionary leadership of Charlie Vogt, I am thrilled to join the company, team with Charlie again and support an outstanding management team and global sales organisation in serving an unrivaled customer base.”

Richard Scott, who had been VP at Harris Broadcast with global responsibility for sales and operations, is leaving the company, according to a spokesman.
