Bristol post house Films @ 59 has installed a BrightDrive media file server to provide the shared storage infrastructure for its new stereo 3D post and effects workflows. The system was supplied by distributor XTFX.

The system at Films @ 59 has 216TB of storage provided by Rorke Data. It provides a common backbone for a new Autodesk Flame Premium suite as well as the existing finishing and grading rooms.
According to Bright Technologies, the file management technology in BrightDrive is designed to achieve significant cost savings by maximising system performance, even when the throughput of data is at its highest. It also optimises the way media is written to disk, reducing the occurrence of data randomisation.
XTFX worked with the in-house engineering team at Films @ 59 to design and install the shared storage infrastructure.
