Deluxe is to open a new facility in Media City, Salford, which will focus on subtitling and access services. Deluxe’s base will be in The Landing, a space aimed at bringing a wide range of creative and technology companies together.
The new facility will be home to a subtitling team who will be working across live and pre-recorded subtitles as well as audio description services. Due to go live in July, the 15 person Salford team will work with colleagues in Acton, to deliver a 24/7 subtitling service. The Salford location will also act as a disaster recovery facility for Deluxe’s access service.
“We have been looking at Salford for some time and this expansion of our services is an obvious first step towards creating a strong presence for Deluxe services in the North West. We are a leading supplier of live subtitles in the UK and with the expanded team we now offer a highly trained and dedicated team across our division,” said Lesley Marr (pictured), COO Deluxe Media Europe.
As a key initiative, Deluxe has also begun collaboration with the University of Salford with the aim to mentor and recruit graduates from the local area to work across the range of roles available within Deluxe.
“The move to Salford is part of our strategic vision to align our media management services with the creative hubs around the country,” said Chris Higgs, managing director, Deluxe Media Europe. “It represents a gear change for us and whilst we focus initially on delivering a first class access services solution from Salford, we will be looking for further opportunities to grow the range of services we offer at Media City.”
