Media Life was shown for the first time at NAB, and is built on Dalet’s Media Asset Management (MAM) platform. It harnesses resources, unifying content in a centralised, highly structured database with interconnections to other systems and subsystems.
Media Life is enterprise-ready to create a cohesive, industrialised workflow that unifies traffic, production, industry-standard NLEs, broadcast, automation, and business system; and features built-in data exchange tools and multiple integration paths, including web services APIs, to guarantee compatibility. Media Life provides end-to-end, full life-cycle content management of media essence, all resolutions and metadata from ingest through production to playout, archives, and re-purposing for multi-platform publishing. Customisable asset management forms and glossaries ensure metadata accuracy and consistency. Shot selection and rough-cut tools are easy to use; integrations with craft editors speeds up post-production. Media Life manages the complicated technical aspects of language translations, subtitling, and captioning, with an enhanced data model that properly associates those elements with the media essence of each asset. A preview window also allows users to view content and works-in-progress together with metadata and essence information.
The business-driven workflow engine orchestrates many human tasks, such as reviews and approvals, and automates background processes including transcoding, rendering, and media movement tasks.
