Blackbird scores with FIFA

Football's governing body will use Blackbird's cloud-native editing platform for video editing and publishing content

FIFA has signed a deal with Blackbird to use its cloud-native editing platform.

As part of the multi-year arrangement, FIFA will employ Blackbird’s cloud-native video production services.

FIFA’s distributed production team will use Blackbird for professional level, collaborative cloud native video editing and publishing of football-related content.

FIFA is preparing for the 2022 World Cup which is set to kick off in Qatar in November 2022.

It is the latest in a long list of sporting organisations to secure the services of Blackbird. Last month, Eurovision Sport signed a multi-year deal with the company to enable cloud native video production for EBU members.

CBS Sports is also using the platform, as is BT’s media operations team which uses Blackbird to access and edit multiple live broadcast streams of sports for the fast production of assets for downstream distribution to over the top (OTT) and video on demand (VoD) channels.
