Petrolheads can now keep track with BBC show Top Gear on mobile devices. BBC Worldwide has launched a new app, designed and developed by Nimble Mobile. The app – which includes exclusive clips, galleries, stories and interviews as well as popular content – is free for iOS, Android, Nokia, Symbian, Windows Phone, Blackberry Playbook and various Blackberry mobile devices.

“Top Gear is one of BBC Worldwide’s biggest global brands,” said Tim Bichara, managing partner and founder of Nimble Mobile. “The show has been sold to over 198 international territories, and topgear.com receives over five million unique users a month, so naturally we are very excited to be part of the launch of this flagship mobile application for the brand.”

He suggested that Nimble Mobile was appointed to design and build the mobile application for BBC Worldwide because of its specialist knowledge in mobile interface design, and its experience in building apps across all mobile platforms and devices. The agency has experience of entertainment consumption on mobile devices having already worked with television and media producers such as Channel 4 and Virgin.
