Pebble introduces Real-time Integrated Media Applications platform

Pebble has launched a new platform that consists of applications covering playout, workflow, and control.

PRIMA, the Platform for Real-time Integrated Media Applications, leverages Pebble’s core business of channel origination, said the company.

It also includes Pebble’s NMOS-based IP stream configuration and management to ensure future-proof workflows.

“PRIMA is more than a playout solution, but of course coming from Pebble, playout is a key capability,” Pebble’s chief operating officer Neil Maycock tells TVBEurope.

“With modern software, there’s a lot of capabilities that are really table stakes for customers, such as security. PRIMA implements these core capabilities that can be leveraged by the different applications Pebble develop.”

The platform has been in development for over four years, says Maycock, and the company has planned customer deployments at launch.

It is aimed at both linear broadcasters and companies deploying FAST channels.

“A core design principle of PRIMA is flexibility, so it can be deployed in public or private cloud,” explains Maycock. “There’s also commercial flexibility with price points that fit different playout requirements. This means we can address a wider range of playout applications including FAST.
