TVU Networks has unveiled TVU One IP, a new transmitter designed for production teams working entirely with IP-based video sources.
The transmitter is built for sport, regional broadcasters and other “lean production environments”, said the company, enabling teams to transmit finished feeds over multiple aggregated network connections, using TVU’s ISX (Inverse Statmux X) technology.
Key features include:
- All-IP production workflows: Receive finished programme feeds from NDI-enabled software switchers and other compatible IP sources such as PTZ cameras.
- Direct USB camera support: Connect a UVC-compatible camera directly for simple single-camera productions.
- Bonded multi-network transmission: Combine cellular, Wi-Fi, wired internet and satellite connectivity for greater reliability.
- Less infrastructure at the venue: Reduce the need for SDI cabling, dedicated camera runs and traditional broadcast infrastructure.
“Many producers don’t have a truck, a fibre connection or another production team waiting at a remote facility—and they don’t need one,” said Matt McEwen, VP of product management at TVU Networks. “They are already creating great live productions locally using IP cameras and software tools they know. TVU One IP gives them a reliable, professional way to get that finished show on air using whatever connectivity is available.”
TVU Cortex platform
The company has also announced TVU Cortex, a platform for news organisations that aims to help them find content faster.
Users can see all of an organisation’s content via a single visual interface, enabling them to browse video, organise by subject, geography, politics, or sports, follow topics through customisable content shelves, set alerts, review assignments and planning information, and pull live or recorded sources instantly.
The platform is built on TVU MediaMesh, the company’s software-defined media platform for acquiring, processing and delivering video and audio across cloud, on-premises and distributed environments.
