TAG Video Systems achieves pure software sub-2-frame latency

TAG will show sub-2-frame latency and 800 Gbps of aggregate scale for uncompressed ST 2110 monitoring in software and live MXL interoperability at IBC2026

TAG Video Systems has announced it will demonstrate two new performance and interoperability milestones at IBC2026, with sub-2-frame latency and 800 Gbps of aggregate scale for uncompressed ST 2110 monitoring in software.

Driving latency on ST 2110 streams below 2 frames at 50fps and 2 frames at 59.94fps (MCM input to MCM output), with CIR (Cyclic Intra Refresh) encoding on MCM output, TAG has put QC and multiviewing directly inline in the live production chain, allowing problems to be detected before reaching air.

Support for the Mellanox ConnectX-7 network card, run as four 200 Gbps ports for an aggregate 800 Gbps, lets a single software instance monitor significantly more uncompressed ST 2110 streams on that same instance, said TAG, demonstrating the ability of software to meet demanding, high-density uncompressed environments.

In addition to these performance gains, the company is continuing to extend live MXL interoperability across multiple partners including AWS, Qvest, Sony and the EBU, and extending the primary multiviewing and QC tools used by operators in live, uncompressed environments.

Designed for operators watching a live show, TAG’s audio, colour and HDR suite: phase, correlation, frequency and loudness scopes (EBU R128 / ITU-R BS.1770 compliance) enables early detection of a dropped channel, a phase error or a loudness spike. QC Station’s Waveform, Vectorscope, RGB/Luma Histogram and Parade tools enable colour and exposure matching across live camera sources in the same multiviewer used to run the show while Dolby Vision Profile 8.1 detection, decode and monitoring in MCM lets a live Dolby Vision source be validated side by side with HDR10, HDR10+, HLG and SDR feeds in the same live mosaic, with the MCS API also exposing Dolby Vision Profile 5 (ICtCp) colour formats.
