Reflecting on Friday’s historic gathering of leading executives, who joined to stand shoulder to shoulder in support of the IBC Interoperability Zone, AIMS chairman, Mike Cronk (pictured), offered his thanks to IBC and its CEO Michael Crimp, for facilitating this unprecedented collaborative show of strength.
Cronk said: “We are so thrilled that hundreds of broadcasters are now really engaged with IP interoperability in a much deeper and more committed way thanks to our presence here at IBC. This is in large part down to Mike
Crimp’s leadership and the wider IBC staff. Mike personally gave this initiative so much focus plus put his top team onto the project so that IBC was much more than a provider of space, but acted as a real facilitator of the industry’s IP interoperability roadmap.
The focus and attention the IBC team has delivered means that hundreds of our colleagues in the industry now have a much more tangible appreciation of the benefits and practical realities of IP interoperability.”
The IBC IP Interoperability Zone is presented for the first time this year with the co-operation of AIMS and the IABM.
It features dedicated demonstrations showcasing interoperability and the IP studio as well as providing space for visitors to discuss the benefits and challenges of IP workflows with a number of diverse vendors, each aligning their efforts to achieve standardisation and seamless inter-working.
