YouTube unveils two new original series for Premium platform

Service is expected to launch soon in the UK

YouTube has produced two brand new original series for subscription streaming service YouTube Premium ahead of its launch in the UK.

The service, which is currently available in the US, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and South Korea, gives users access to YouTube original films, series, and a premium music service ad-free.

The two new shows are The Sidemen Show and F2 Finding Football.

The Sidemen Show, described by Youtube as one half reality, one half drama, and, “three halves mayhem”, sees seven “Sidemen” take part in rare experiences in destinations across the globe, with surprises along the way. The show (pictured above) is produced by Blue Ant Media and its counterparts: Los Angeles-based digital series producer Blue Ant Digital Studios and UK-based studio Antenna Pictures.

Produced by Whistle Sports, F2 Finding Football follows football skill pioneers Billy Wingrove and Jeremy Lynch as they explore unique pitches around the world in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Iceland, France, Thailand and more. The hosts and their celebrity guests take on adventures in every episode from creating their own version of a Japanese game show with DJ Steve Aoki, making a Western movie in Hollywood with Blink 182’s Travis Barker and much more.

“At YouTube, we continue to support incredible European creators and the stories they want to share with the whole world,” said Luke Hyams, head of YouTube originals in EMEA.

F2 Finding Football will premiere on the F2Freestyler’s YouTube Channel on the 13th of June, while The Sidemen Show will premiere and air on The Sidemen’s YouTube Channel from the 18th of June. The remaining episodes will be available with an upgrade to YouTube Premium.
