Snapchat has announced it is collaborating with 17 UK media brands to bring UK-focused TV shows to the platform.
Channel 4, Sky News, Sky Sports, The Guardian and Vice are among the UK content creators who are launching new video content on the social network.
The new shows will last between three and seven minutes, with some available immediately via Snapchat’s Discover page.
According to Snapchat’s head of international content partnerships, Remi Saad, the UK launch is part of the platform’s plans to prioritise local content in different countries.
He said the platform’s original shows are already attracting around five million monthly visitors in the UK.
