SMPTE has announced the appointment of its 2025 leadership team.
Sky UK’s Chris Johns has been re-elected as the society’s United Kingdom region governor and will serve a further two year term beginning in 2025.
Johns, Sky’s chief engineer, broadcast strategy, joins five fellow governors who were reelected to their positions, along with four new board members at the Society of Media Professionals, Technologists and Engineers. Three new officers have also joined the board with one continuing and another taking up the role of standards vice president from 1st January 2025.
Sally-Ann D’Amato, interim executive director at SMPTE, said, “SMPTE’s membership has spoken. These officers have been tasked with an important responsibility, one each of them is prepared to tackle head-on. These next two years are looking bright for SMPTE!”
