Rise Academy has announced the return of its Race 4 The Future Charity Run, and is inviting attendees at next month’s IBC2026 to take part.
Originally launched by AWS Elemental, Rise Academy picked up the baton and has continued to host the event, which will take place at 7:30 on the morning of Saturday 12 September in Amsterdam.
Once again, the Sam Blackman Medal will be awarded to the participant who best embodies community, inclusion and purpose, continuing to honour the AWS Elemental co-founder and his commitment to drive positive change through technology.
The 4km run or walk aims to raise funds to support the development of the next generation of media and technology talent, supporting Rise Academy in its aims to create pathways for underrepresented young people in the industry.

Andy Beale, chair of Rise Academy, said, “Race 4 The Future is about far more than completing 4km. Rise Academy is also inviting volunteers to sign up as Race Makers, helping to ensure the event runs safely.
