NAB 2018 to debut two new events

Achievement in Broadcasting Dinner and We Are Broadcasters to be held during six-day event

NAB Show will debut two new events highlighting broadcast industry achievement at its 2018 event in April.

The NAB Achievement in Broadcasting Dinner will be held Monday, 9th April at the Encore Las Vegas, while the We Are Broadcasters Program follows on Tuesday, 10th April at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The events will “shine a light” on the broadcast industry, said NAB, recognising individuals and companies for their contributions in advancing the industry through technology, public service, and superior content.

The Achievement in Broadcasting Dinner and show is a ticketed event, which will include a networking reception. It will feature the presentation of the NAB Radio and Television Hall of Fame Awards and the NAB Digital Leadership Award. Tickets will be available for purchase through the NAB Show registration portal in the coming weeks.

The NAB: We Are Broadcasters Program is open to all attendees. The event will include the presentation of the NAB Crystal Radio Awards and the NAB Crystal Heritage Award, in addition to the Radio and Television Engineering Achievement Awards and the Television Chairman’s Award.

“These changes are an opportunity to better highlight key awards and expose them to a broader NAB Show audience,” said Chris Brown, NAB executive vice president, conventions and business operations. “The new schedule also reflects NAB’s focus on keeping the show fresh and relevant while continuing to highlight the great work our industry does from a business, creative and community perspective.”

The new events replace the NAB Show Television Luncheon, NAB Show Radio Luncheon, and NAB Show Technology Luncheon, all of which were ticketed events at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort.
