3DTV is coming fast and it’s an industry game-changer. TVBEurope is therefore pleased to announce 3D Masters 2010, taking place June 22 at BAFTA in London – a natural successor to our previous HD Masters conference.

3DTV is coming fast and it’s an industry game-changer. TVBEurope is therefore pleased to announce 3D Masters 2010, taking place June 22 at BAFTA in London – a natural successor to our previous HD Masters conference.
3D Masters 2010 is held in association with BKSTS and will be chaired by John Ive. Our Platinum Sponsor is Quantel, pioneer in stereo 3D post production technology.
3D Masters 2010 aims to give you a thorough understanding of the technologies and techniques of broadcast 3D. Please place this event in your diary now: the third dimension is closer than you think!
BSkyB may be first out of the blocks with the launch of Sky 3D to pubs next month but it is far from unique in exploiting the potential of 3DTV. PayTV satellite broadcaster Canal+ has announced its intent to launch a 3D channel before Christmas this year, beating French cable network Orange to the punch.
Elsewhere in Europe Spanish group MediaPro is investigating the technology for its football channel Gol TV. 3D channels are also set to launch in the US, Japan, Korea and Brazil featuring movies, sports, live music and an array of documentary and studio based entertainment programming.
At the recent BVE exhibition in London test and measurement vendor Hamlet polled booth visitors and discovered that 50% of people expect to work in a stereoscopic 3D production in the coming year. A further 14% had already worked in 3D. And almost two-thirds of visitors said that finding out about 3D equipment and production techniques was the main reason or an important part of their visit.
3D is already where HD was five years ago, but it will require additional infrastructure, new investment and extra technology. With many broadcasters still planning investment in HD, shouldn’t they also be considering the implications of 3D before making their final investment — at least to future proof their plans? Or do they otherwise risk being left behind?
3D Masters 2010 will sharpen your focus around these key issues. TVBEurope’s new event — from the team that brought you the highly successful HD Masters conference — is intended to contribute to the education process. It will gather together leading exponents of 3D production in a one-day forum to exchange their knowledge with an audience of peers.
