London Live announces new Live from London strand

London Live, the capital’s TV channel, is increasing its coverage of events across London with an official Live from London strand.

London Live, the capital’s TV channel, is increasing its coverage of events across London with an official Live from London strand. Spanning sporting events, carnivals, music and film festivals, the channel will deliver entertainment shows which aim to reflect and celebrate the capital’s cultural diversity.

As part of the new focus on live programming, London Live is the official broadcast partner of We Are Fstvl 2015, a two-day extravaganza featuring dance music artists and brands. The channel is also set to produce a special two-hour live programme for Field Day, London’s annual two-day festival in Victoria Park, which is renowned for breaking music acts as well as celebrating world famous artists.

Live from London will also expand its coverage of sporting events, including the Women’s Boxing Finals between London and The South taking place on Saturday 6 June, as well as the Haringey Box Cup, broadcasting live from Alexandra Palace with an eight-hour special on Sunday 21 June. The channel will also broadcast Pride London Festival for the second year running on 27 June, as well as this summer’s outdoor cinema event, Nomad Film Festival.

The announcement follows the channel’s coverage of four major events across the capital last year, which delivered half a million viewers tuning in to watch programmes covering the Notting Hill Carnival to Miss World 2014.

Lucy Myers, programme director for London Live, said, “Our aim is to give Londoners exclusive behind the scenes access to the capital’s most exciting events, and we are proud to celebrate London’s position as the cultural capital of the world”.
