Films at 59 moves into S3D with Pablo

Top five UK post facility, Films at 59 in Bristol, has become the first purchaser of Quantel's Pablo PA as part of its strategic move into Stereo 3D.

Top five UK post facility, Films at 59 in Bristol, has become the first purchaser of Quantel’s Pablo PA as part of its strategic move into Stereo 3D, writes David Fox.

The Pablo PA software will be part of its new S3D pipeline, processing digital capture files, performing stereo fixes and assembling stereo conforms. Films at 59 had not previously invested in Quantel equipment.

Films at 59 felt that Stereo 3D provided an excellent opportunity to enhance the services it offers and started researching the workflows and technology available late last year. In choosing its new system, it wanted to ensure that any purchase gave it quality, flexibility and efficiency.

“We chose Pablo PA for its codec support, professional conform abilities and automated stereo3D ‘fix it’ tools,” said Films at 59 Operations Manager, Stuart Dyer.

“We trust the images it produces, it’s easy for our editors to use and it is great value for money. We haven’t dealt with Quantel before and are enjoying the experience.”

“Films at 59 is a great company to work with,” commented Steve Owen, Director of Marketing, Quantel. “They know what they are about and have a clear idea of where they are going. We are really excited that the Pablo PA software is integrated into their new S3D workflow and we look forward to listening to their feedback on how we can make things even better in future.”
