BT Sport appoints new sports rights MD

New role will spearhead BT’s renewed efforts to grow viewers and revenues for BT Sport

BT has announced the creation of a new managing director of Sports Rights and Commercial, to manage the company’s growing sports rights and commercial business.

Andy Haworth takes on the new role, which has been created to spearhead BT’s renewed efforts to grow viewers and revenues for BT Sport. Haworth will continue to report directly to Marc Allera, CEO of BT’s Consumer division after leading BT Consumer’s strategy and content teams for just under a decade.

The company has also appointed Cindy Varga as managing director of Strategy and Transformation for the Consumer Division.
