BBC Three, Channel 4, albert nominated for Innovation Award

Nominees for annual Broadcasting Press Guild Awards revealed

The nominations for the Broadcasting Press Guild’s 44th annual awards have been announced, with BBC Three, Channel 4 and BAFTA nominated for the Innovation in Broadcasting Award.

BAFTA has been nominated for albert, its online tool for calculating a production’s carbon footprint; BBC Three is recognised for showcasing new comedy talent and Channel 4’s nomination is for new advances in championing diversity both on and off screen.

Netflix’s The Crown once again leads the nominees with nods for Best Actress (Claire Foy), Best Actor (Matt Smith), Best Online First/Streaming and Best Writer (Peter Morgan).

In the Best Entertainment/Factual Entertainment category, three previous winners – The Great British Bake Off, The Graham Norton Show and Strictly Come Dancing – compete with Taskmaster (Dave).

The 44th annual BPG awards, sponsored by Virgin TV, will be presented at an awards lunch held at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane on Friday 16th March.
