The sale of two Artemis Beam consoles to Television Technical Centre Ostankino for the NTV-PLUS broadcasting company constitutes Calrec’s first foray into the Russian market. NTV-PLUS is a Russian subscriber satellite service broadcasting sport, news, movies, documentaries and more. Installed into the Moscow Television Centre earlier this year, the Artemis desks have been networked together using Calrec’s Hydra2 system. Specified to ease the delivery of more complex productions, the new set-up enables NTV-PLUS to broadcast in 5.1 and move content around with ease. Mike Reddick, Calrec’s European sales manager, said that the company was “thrilled” by the sale to NTV-PLUS. “We feel it is a very positive first step in forging strong bonds between our companies in what will be a long and mutually beneficial relationship,” he remarked. “Calrec offers a solution for today’s broadcaster that allows scope for change and expansion which is especially poignant for the forward thinking television company, as NTV-PLUS is.” – David Davies8.C58
