Customers are ‘overwhelmed’ by number of streaming services

Over a third of consumers would like a "bundled platform" for all their streaming services

With the imminent arrival of new streaming services from Disney, Apple, WarnerMedia and BritBox, a new study has found customers are becoming “overwhelmed” with the plethora of streaming services to choose from.

According to Amdocs’ 2019 Subscription Management Report, 39 per cent of those surveyed said they would prefer a bundled platform for all of their streaming services with a single sign-on and simplified browsing, which would also make it easy to try new subscriptions and add additional users.

Advertising is also a key factor in the consumer experience, per the report. A majority of international viewers said they would be OK with receiving tailored advertisements (39 per cent opposed). The preferred streaming services are ad free or feature limited ads (like Netflix), which require streamers to look for other monetisation and business models.
