Amazon has launched a new service that allows Prime members to sign up for 40 subscription channels.
Amazon Channels is already available in the US and has now launched in both the UK and Germany. It allows Amazon subscribers to sign up for specific channels without paying for a bundle or contract.
Among the channels available are BFI Player+, Eurosport Player, Discovery, ITV Hub+, hayu, Heera (Amazon’s own Bollywood channel), Ketchup TV, MGM, MUBI and Shudder.
Amazon says the majority of the content available on the new service is available for download and additional subscriptions will be added “in the coming months.”
Amazon Channels is available via the existing Prime Video app as well as the Amazon Video app on smart TVs, iOs and Android mobile devices, Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, and Fire tablets plus games consoles and through the web.
