Automation supplier Pebble Beach Systems signed at deal at NAB which will see it implement a significant extension to the facilities at Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI), the national broadcaster of the Emirate of Dubai and one of the leading broadcasters in the Gulf region. This is the second phase of installation at the site, which already has a Pebble Beach Neptune automation system. With this new order a total of seven channels will be automated under Neptune control. The installation will be project managed by QVest Media. Devices controlled by Pebble Beach Neptune include Harmonic Omneon video servers, archive and asset management by Front Porch Digital, Vizrt graphics and the Harris Broadcast Master traffic system.Speaking at NAB Hassan Chahine, the technology advisor at DMI (pictured, right, with Pebble Beach’s Tom Gittins) said “We have now been on air with Neptune for over a year and we have found Pebble Beach to be very efficient. The Neptune system really adds value for us, delivering operational efficiencies and improving our on-air production values.“Our plan is to implement a fully automated, file-based workflow, and this phase moves us closer to that goal.”
