Merging Technologies finished a highly successful year with the official release of new software for its product range. This release represents thousands of man-hours of work and makes cutting edge technology available for professionals using Pyramix, VCube, Ovation, MXFix and Horus. Merging Technologies claims its cornerstone product, Pyramix 8, is now the first DAW in the world to natively support RAVENNA Audio over IP for use with both its MassCore and Native systems. RAVENNA enables users to interchange realtime audio streams across (properly managed) standard Layer 3 networks. This new connectivity is what allows for ultra-low latency interaction with Merging’s new audio interface, Horus. In addition, numerous new features and enhancements are now available with the V8 release, bringing improvements to almost every workflow, including RAVENNA support for MassCore and Native, Horus – Networked Audio Interface, more powerful MassCore, automation enhancements, PanNoir – advanced panning plugin, enhanced search engine, timeline and UI improvements and mixer improvements. Features with Ovation 4 cover everything from broadcast playout to interactive AV environment creation. Its enhancements include audio recording to Cue, CD Import to Cue, auto-import from removable devices, marker rule improvements, Dataton WATCHOUT synchronisation, multi-Ovation synchronisation, show templates, mixer improvements and cue pinning. VCube 4 is a step forward in many ways from previous versions. In addition to optimisation and bug fixes, improved Auto-Edit, improved media file handling and Batch Render are included in the V4.0 release. MXFix V2 has new features, faster workflow and more reliability for broadcasters and post production studios trusting their output to Merging Technologies’ MXF washing machine. These include output channel reordering, 2-pass loudness correction tool, BWAV file support, continuous Watch updates and 24 channels of audio support.www.merging.com
