My IBC: Hope Primus, VoD schedule executive

Hope Primus looks forward to attending this year's World Skills Café as well as "playing around" with new technologies, meeting new people and learning about the future of technology

How long have you been going to IBC?

I was in Amsterdam last year for the World Skills Café,  but unfortunately I wasn’t able to attend any of the talks/vendors on the Friday or Saturday. This is my first year that I’m at the show for the full weekend, which I’m really excited about!

What’s your typical IBC routine: what are you there to see/learn, who are you there to meet?

I’ll be starting on Thursday, attending and helping facilitate the second annual World Skills Café which is going to be incredible. I’m still working on my plan for the rest of the weekend as I’m spoilt for choice! I definitely want to attend DeShuna Elisa Spencer’s panel–I love documentaries and streaming and diversity within media is something I’m really passionate about. I’m also really looking forward to the Future Tech Hall, our industry is everchanging, especially now, so I’m really intrigued about the upcoming innovations and those who are leading new integrations and ways of working.

Why is IBC important to you in a professional capacity, and how does the show compare to others on the calendar?

It’s so important to stay ahead of the curve, learn about new processes, systems and ways of thinking and IBC is definitely one of the best places to do all of this at once! It’s also a great place to network with people from all over the world and those who have similar interests, or even different ones. It’s truly a melting pot of ideas and inspiration where everyone is encouraged to share ideas and think outside the box.

What are you most looking forward to at IBC2025?

Playing around with some new technologies (especially virtual realities), meeting new people and learning about the Future of Tech. GenAI is well and truly underway, so it will be exciting to see what the next big thing is…

What’s your top tip for anyone attending IBC for the first time?

Spend some time looking at the programme to figure out which talks/halls really pique your interest to ensure you gain the full experience. Be open-minded and don’t be afraid to ask questions!
