IBC TV: IP in the real world

At IBC2016 EVS is powering the whole IBC TV infrastructure, and the channel is also notably integrating infrastructure from the VRT-EBU LiveIP studio project.

IBC TV’s technical operations ingest content from multiple sources. In the IBC TV Studio and on its green screen virtual studio, multicam feeds are being ingested directly into EVS servers.

Remote crews interviewing exhibitors and visitors around the show are shooting content and then utilising the EVS Ingest Funnel for importing files in multiple formats.

This content flows directly to the system’s XStore Production nearline storage and automated workflow orchestration systems for use by the production teams.

The technical set-up of the LiveIP studio at the show is split across three sites, and content is being managed across the entire production infrastructure by IPDirector.

IBC TV has also adopted the VRT-EBU LiveIP Studio project’s IP production studio, which relies on interoperability between some of the industry’s leading technology providers and is supported by the Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS), and has steadily progressed its capabilities since it was founded just over one year ago.
