World’s biggest LED virtual production screen unveiled

At 12 metres high and with a 50 metre diameter, the 270-degree LED screen covers approximately 1,700 square metres

Building on a long-term partnership, Absen has collaborated with Versatile Media Ltd to create the world’s largest monolithic LED virtual production stage.

Officially opened at the Versatile AI Virtual Film Base and the AI Virtual Film Technology Launch Event in Deqing, China, the stage represents “a significant leap in technological innovation and application for Absen’s LED-based virtual production solutions,” said the company.

Featuring a 270-degree curved LED screen with a 50 metre diameter and 12 metre height, the LED display covers approximately 1,700 m² of the stage’s overall 5,000 m² floor area – the equivalent of four standard basketball courts.

Technical teams from both partners coordinated closely throughout the project, from planning to installation and calibration. With a focus on fine pixel pitch, high resolution and precision display, Absen delivered a comprehensive solution including core display technologies, colour management and full-process technical support.

Absen aims to continue to drive efficiency and quality in the film and TV industry, said the company.
