fivefold opens virtual production facility at Wales’ Dragon Studios

The facility also features a 5000 sqft green screen cove measuring 33 ft in height, the largest in Europe

fivefold studios have announced a new virtual production facility.

Based at Dragon Studios in South Wales, the 12,000 sqft site aims to encourage productions of all sizes to the region, with the latest In-Camera Visual Effects techniques as well as performance capture solutions and AI production tools.

The company said it aims to enable real-time capture of visual effects with its LED volume, with the facility also featuring a 5000 sqft green screen cove measuring 33 ft in height, the largest in Europe.

The company is one of 23 partners forming the Media Cymru consortium, which promotes and develops the growth of the media sector in Wales while championing green and fair economic growth. Working in partnership with Media Cymru, fivefold aims to provide industry-led training programmes at the facility.
