Rakuten launches 4K HDR service

Service aims to provide "unbeatable" experience

Rakuten TV has launched a 4K HDR offering.

The pay-per-view service said it is aiming to provide an “unbeatable” premium film experience to European Smart TV owners. 

Rakuten aims to secure the widest 4K HDR film catalogue in Europe, with more than 100 top Hollywood titles expeted to be available before the end of the year.

Content includes Transformers: The Last Knight, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Baby Driver, and Baywatch.

The service will have a section dedicated to 4K HDR exclusively available on Samsung TIZEN UHD HDR TVs. Users will have access to 4K HDR films directly from the app, without need for further devices.
