Long-anticipated OTT service Molotov.tv has completed its launch throughout France.

First announced in June last year, the service has been designed by JeanDavid Blanc and Pierre Lescure – founders of AlloCiné and Canal+ respectively – to disrupt the current TV distribution offering in France, with the onus on ‘adapting channels to modern needs’.

Accessible on all devices, Molotov will comprise 35 channels, including all TNT content, priced at €3.99 per month. An extended tier, priced at €9.99, will deliver over 70 channels including Paramount, Discovery, Disney, BET and Game One.

The platform will also look to offer premium channels from Canal+ and BeIN Sports on a month-by-month basis.

Blanc said, “After months of hard work, user tests and analysis, we are very pleased to offer a new television experience this summer, one that is free and fully focused on what viewers expect from television in the 21st century.

“More than ever, we are convinced that television has an outstanding value proposition, provided it is delivered through the right user experience.”
