ITV calls on SIS LIVE to Text Santa

SIS LIVE has helped ITV’s Phillip Schofield to launch this year’s Text Santa appeal with a 24-hour live TV challenge. The This Morning presenter launched the annual charity appeal by appearing in programmes across ITV, and broadcasting live from venues in central London for 24 hours on Monday 1 December. The fund-raising drive culminates in a three-hour live TV Christmas special.

SIS LIVE’s camera operators were following Schofield yesterday, at the Christmas Market on London’s South Bank, and a SIS LIVE HD uplink truck was parked nearby to broadcast all the live ITV footage via satellite, supported by its network operations centre and teleport at MediaCityUK in Salford.

“We’re delighted that SIS LIVE is helping us out on the Text Santa 24 Hours Live Launch Show,” said ITV production manager, Helen Burrows before the show. “We trust SIS LIVE to provide the cameras and satellite links to ensure our viewers follow every bit of the live action in what promises to be a highly entertaining 24 hours.”

David Meynell, managing director, SIS LIVE, added: “We are very pleased to be involved with the Launch Show. We already have a great working relationship with ITV, ITV Sport and ITN, providing facilities for multiple live broadcasts.

“As ever with live TV, we’ve come to expect the unexpected – and the Text Santa launch promises to provide some great entertainment. But our camera, technical support and satellite uplink crews have the experience and skill to ensure viewers enjoy the highest quality live coverage.”
