Hungarian multi-service operator TARR has chosen to deploy systems from Appear TV to increase channel capacity and power its new linear multiscreen services.
The upgrade to its offering saw TARR use Appear TV’s UniversalPicture Perfect Transcoding Hardware integrated into the XC5000 Video Processing Platform to deploy 24 new channels for multiscreen delivery. In addition new DVB-S/S2 satellite demodulators were added at its downlink site along with new Appear TV transcoding solutions to add additional broadcast channels to the TARR TV line-up. The installation was managed and integrated with existing TARR infrastructure by HFC Technics, an Appear TV business partner and broadcast systems integrator in Hungary.
