Ericsson will provide video contribution and distribution solutions for NBC’s Olympic coverage in Rio this summer.
The Swedish corporation has been selected to aid NBC in delivering ‘high quality, reliable HD broadcast’.
It will provide a range of its video processing solutions and modular receivers, with Ericsson engineers also providing 24/7 event support onsite.

Ericsson’s encoding solutions were also used by NBC for the 2014 Sochi Winter Games, and prior to this supported NBC’s production of the 2012 London Games, 2010 Vancouver Winter Games, the 2008 Beijing Games and the 2006 Winter Olympics from Torino.
