Channel 4 is planning to livestream the whole of the Apollo 11 mission on its YouTube channel.
The minute-by-minute stream will begin from the moment of blast off on 16th July until the astronauts leave the Moon on 21st July.
The mission will play out in real time, 24 hours a day and will be made up of six days of NASA recorded audio communications between Mission Control and the spacecraft, footage and still images taken by the Apollo 11 crew, along with specially created graphics and reconstruction where needed.
The stream is part of a series of initiatives by Channel 4 to mark the 50th anniversary of man on the Moon including documentaries, six short films that will air daily throughout the mission and social media content.
