Canal Plus to exclusively carry Disney Plus

Service launches in France on 31st March

Disney Plus┬áhas signed an exclusive distribution agreement with┬áCanal Plus ahead of the platform’s French launch on 31st March.

The two companies already hold a programming agreement that gives Canal Plus access to movies from Walt Disney Pictures, Marvel Studios, Pixar and Lucasfilm.

The new agreement makes Canal Plus the sole distributor of Disney Plus in France, meaning other telco groups such as Orange, SFR, Bouygues Telecom and Free will have to go through Canal Plus to access the service.

Canal Plus will continue to have exclusive rights to Disney content, including the Star Wars and Avengers films, as well as Disney channels in France, including Disney Channel and Disney Junior, alongside National Geographic, Voyage and Fox Play.
