Amazon Prime Video aims to ace tennis coverage in 2019

Streamer hasn't said whether it has addressed the latency issues seen during its coverage of the 2018 US Open

Amazon Prime Video’s new five-year deal to deliver live and exclusive coverage of 37 ATP Tour events from 2019 to 2023 officially begins this month.

The deal will see Amazon serve up coverage of all ATP Masters 1000 events, as well as the US Open from 2019 to 2022 to viewers in the UK and Ireland. Prime Video will also show the Nitto ATP Finals from The O2, the Next Gen ATP Finals, all ATP 500s, including the Fever Tree Championships from The Queen’s Club and 13 ATP 250s, including the Nature Valley International from Eastbourne.

Amazon secured the rights to the ATP matches back in November 2017.

Prime Video will broadcast on-site, live studio coverage across tournaments, whilst on-site field reporters will bring viewers the latest action, analysis and commentary right from the court side at many tournaments.

Amazon hasn’t said whether it has addressed the latency issues that occurred during its coverage of the US Open in 2018.
