Amazon ‘looking to work with telcos to grow Prime subscriptions’

Company is reportedly considering launching a dedicated product for mobile operators

Amazon is reportedly looking to build partnerships with mobile operators worldwide as it aims to grow subscribers to Prime as well as its music and other media subscription services.

Variety reports Amazon is considering launching a dedicated product for telcos, dubbed Amazon Fuse.

The company applied for a trademark last month and stated Fuse is related to the transmission of entertainment services, including video and audio, over mobile networks and the internet.

Variety says it has seen a job advert for a software development engineer that describes Fuse as a product that “enables international partners to offer Amazon subscription services to their customers.

“The Fuse business is primarily working with mobile operators across the globe to bring Prime Video, Music, Kindle, and Prime to hundreds of millions of customers,” the advert said.
